Bachelor's and Beyond
Community colleges play a vital role in higher education by providing accessible and affordable education to a diverse student population. To expand our offerings and meet the evolving needs of students, UCC is partnering with four-year colleges and universities to offer bachelor's and higher degrees.
By leveraging the strengths of UCC and our partners, students benefit from a wider range of courses, experienced faculty, and access to resources such as libraries, labs, and career services. Additionally, these partnerships can help address workforce needs by producing graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the local job market. Overall, these collaborations contribute to a more educated workforce and stronger community.

Grow Your Own (GYO) with George Fox University
The Student Success Act (HB 3427, 2019) mandated state education agencies to develop a plan aimed at enhancing educator development through initiatives funded by the Statewide Education Initiatives Account. The plan, approved in January 2020, prioritized goals such as increasing educator retention, diversity, mentoring, participation in preparation programs, and offering scholarships. It identified Grow Your Own (GYO) programs as a model for achieving these objectives by nurturing local talent, including early learning and care educators. GYO programs, facilitated through local or regional partnerships, offer alternative career pathways tailored to address recruitment and retention challenges across the education continuum. These programs provide personalized support to educator candidates, ensuring their success.
